Stephen R. C. Hicks - Explicando el Posmodernismo

STEPHEN RONALD CRAIG HICKS. (nacido en 1960 en Toronto, Ontario, Canadá) es profesor de filosofía en el Rockford College. Ha obtenido grado B.A.(Honours, 1981) y M.A. de la University of Guelph, Canadá, y su Ph.D. (1991) de la Indiana University. Su tesis doctoral fue acerca del fundacionalismo.

Hicks es el autor de dos libros y un documental. Explicando el postmodernismo: Escepticismo y socialismo de Rousseau a Foucault (Scholargy Publishing, 2004; expanded edition, 2011) argumenta que el postmodernismo es mejor entendido como una respuesta de los intelectuales y académicos en la ultra izquierda del espectro político a el fracaso del socialismo y el comunismo.​ Su documental «Nietzsche y los Nazis (Ockham's Razor, 2006) es un examen de las raíces ideológicas y filosóficas del Nacional-socialismo, particularmente de como las ideas de Friedrich Nietzsche fueron usadas, en algunos casos erróneamente, por Adolf Hitler y los nazis para justificar sus creencias y prácticas.​ Esto fue publicado en 2006 como un video documental​ y luego en el 2010 como un libro.
